Gym & Fitness Area

  • Before using any equipment, you are required to complete a PAR-Q (physical activity readiness questionnaire) form at the sports reception
  • A free induction, which is an overview of the sports area, is available from the sports team. Advance booking required
  • Personal Training is also available from our 4 qualified instructors. Sessions are for 1hr and can be booked as a one-off session or book a group of 6 sessions for the price of 5. Advance booking required
  • Swimming lessons are available for 30mins per session with our level 2 accredited swimming instructor. Sessions can be booked as a one-off session or book a group of 6 sessions for the price of 5.
  • Suitable gym clothing must be worn, including shoes
  • Users must be at least 16 years old
  • Please use a small towel on all pieces of equipment

Please note that personal training, fitness assessments and swimming lessons are available for members only. All sessions have a full fee 24hr cancellation policy.

Fitness Area Equipment:

Stair Climber

The rotating stairs are an excellent workout for the lower body
Elliptical Trainers

Provides the same effect as running or walking but without the impact. Good for people with knee or hip problems
Treadmills
Can be used for either running or walking. Offers various programmes and levels of incline
Bikes

Upright bicycle. Good for toning legs. Offers variety of programmes. Good for toning legs whilst giving proper back support
Rowing Machines
Offers all round body workout. Good for toning shoulders, back, legs and chest
Pec Dec

Resistance equipment for working the chest area
Lat Pulldown/ Tricep pushdown

Resistance equipment for toning back muscles, and triceps (back of arm)
Seated Shoulder Press

Resistance equipment with 3 handles for working front, middle and back deltoids (shoulder muscles)
Leg Press

Lying leg press to tone muscles in upper and lower parts of the legs
Free Weights

Allows for diverse strength exercise to tone body
Fit Balls
Good for training core stability and abdominals
