Learn to Fence at The Lansdowne Club
The next Beginners Fencing Course will commence on Sunday, 7th April and will run for a period of 6 weeks with a one week break on the 5th May due to the bank holiday. Taking place in the Lansdowne Club Fencing Salle from 14:00hrs – 16:00hrs each Sunday.

The coaching will be provided by Priscille Lapoutge, who is a Grade 5 coach with all 3 weapons. The basics of footwork, blade work and fighting will be covered. The Club will provide the weapons and protective clothing. Participants are asked to wear comfortable full-length leg wear.

The course will cost £150 for Members and £200 for Non-Members.

Spaces are limited to only 12, so it is advisable to book as early as possible as places will be offered to those currently on the waiting list and thereafter, determined on a first come first serve basis.

NEW: Intermediate Fencing Course
A new Intermediate Fencing Course is scheduled to begin on Friday, 12th April and will run for a period of 6 weeks with a break on Friday, 3rd May due to the bank holiday weekend.

The coaching will be provided by Priscille Lapoutge who is a Grade 5 coach with all 3 weapons. It will be held in the Exercise Studio from 18:30hrs – 20:00hrs every Friday. Participants are required to bring their own equipment and clothing.

The course will cover, amongst other things:
- Technical footwork (focusing on co-ordination)
- Footwork specific to work with distance and preparation Blade work, including compound attack, attaques au fer, prises de fer, parade et riposte.

Classes will work on the technical aspect of each topic above.

The course will cost £120 and will only be available to Lansdowne Club Members.

The Lansdowne Fencing Club is open for fencing each weekday. We have 3 experienced fencing masters who teach on alternate evenings.

The club evening is divided into 2 parts: 'free' fencing with other fencers and a lesson. Members can attend the club 5 nights a week.

All club fencers must also be members of the Lansdowne Club. Membership details can be obtained through Julie Hodgson on 020 7318 6165.
