January 2011
The year has definitely started with a bang following the commencement of the 12-month refurbishment of the basement area. Works are progressing well, both in terms of timing and budget.
The majority of the enabling works for the new changing rooms and demolition of the area behind the squash courts have been completed with work to create two new gym floors as well as a dance studio underway. The Sports Reception, AQUA, treatment rooms and spiral staircases from the front entrance to the sports area will re-open in April.
Your patience during the first stage of the project has been greatly appreciated and we believe that the most intrusive part of the project is now behind us.
The new changing rooms are due to come back in September 2011 and the new cardio and free weights gyms in January 2012.
If you would like to see more details of the project, a computer animated walk through of the proposed new areas is on permanent display outside the Thirties Room.
